NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR
3.x SETUP INFORMATION

ASSUMPTIONS 

It is assumed that you already have Netscape Navigator 3.x downloaded to your computer.
If you need to download Netscape, click here.
If you have already installed Netscape, skip to Step #2
  
 

           

GETTING STARTED 

Step 1: Starting the setup 

1.Double click on n32e301p.exe file  
(if your file has a different name such as ns32e303.exe or similar click on this)  

2.The Netscape Installation program will now ask you if you wish to continue with installation. 
See figure 1. Click on yes to continue.

3.The Welcome screen will now appear to guide you through the steps involved in the setup process. 
See Figure 2. Click on next to continue.

4.You will now be asked to choose the destination to which the files will be installed. 
Leave this part as it is and click on next. By default Netscape will be installed into 
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator.  See figure 3

5.Setup will now ask you to install the Cool Talk plugin. Click on No to continue.  
                  
6.Setup will now continue to install the required files. See Figure 4

7.Setup will now ask you if you would like to connect to the Netscape Web Site to continue your setup process. Click on No. (You are able to return to this area at a later date by selecting from the menu of the Navigator, Help, Registration. This will take you to this area and from here you can register this copy of Netscape Navigator to yourself.) Then click on No to viewing the Readme file.  (You are also able to do this a later date)  

8.The setup complete notice will now appear to inform you that Netscape Navigator has been 
successfully installed. Click on OK to continue.  

                
              

Step 2:  
Configure Netscape Navigator for use with Online Colorado 

1.To start Netscape Navigator double click on the Netscape icon on the desktop. As this is the first time you are loading Netscape Navigator the Netscape License Agreement will be displayed (see figure 5) click on Accept to continue loading Netscape.

2.Click on Options and then General Preferences. The following screen will appear as seen in

3.In the startup section of this screen type in the settings as seen in figure 6 then click on OK.  

                

                

Step 3: 
Configuring Netscape for Online Colorado Mail and News 

1.Click on Options then select Mail and News Preferences, then click on the TAB Servers. The following screen will appear as shown in figure 7. (The Servers section is used to setup the Mail server from which you mail will be sent to and received from. The POP3 username is the same as your Online Colorado user id. E.g. jsmith. The News server section is to setup the server from which you are able to access the available Newsgroups)

2.Type in the setting as seen in Figure 7. When finished click on the TAB Identity to continue.  

3. Now, type in the settings as seen in Figure 8 below.

4.Click on OK to start using Netscape Navigator on Online Colorado.
